The Benefits of Blackcurrants

Blackcurrants are packed full of nutrients making these black beauties one of the most nutritious foods on the planet. With potent Vitamin C and antioxidants, the benefits of blackcurrants range widely from brain and general health, immunity to mood and sports and cognitive performance and recovery.

A meta-analysis and systemic review of nine clinical studies have shown New Zealand grown blackcurrants account for a small but significant performance increase when consumed for 7 days (105-210 mg anthocyanins). We source and use locally grown Ben Ard blackcurrants due to their naturally higher amounts of anthocyanins (a powerful antioxidant) compared to other varieties. This is due to the harsh sunlight in New Zealand and accounts for the deep purple/black colour. The Blackcurrants are freeze-dried to retain the nutrient value and milled into a fine concentrated powder.

Amazing little caps

I take these every day to help with recovery after training and long cycle rides. I find them easier to use than the powdered blackcurrant and I am definitely seeing results. A great New Zealand-made product. Amazing science behind blackcurrants and performance. Legs feel much better and less aches
